Managed Pressure Drilling
RCD PRESS
The RCD (Rotating Control Device) Press is used to install and remove a tubular onto an RCD head. The head is used with Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) and is conventionally installed on the rig floor. This method of installation can cause a variety of handling and safety concerns. Taking the operation offline removes the hazards and the Non Productive Time (NPT) cost of head installation during rig activity.

Why It Matters
On MPD work, idle rig time during critical path steps is the fastest way to inflate the AFE. Moving RCD installation offline removes the exposure point and keeps the rig sequence cleaner when timing matters most. Onshore or offshore, that change in workflow is where the ROI shows up.
